Fashionable wedding.-week before last Mr. Charles D.B. Fisk, the well known clothier of this city, was united in marriage with Miss Susie E. Sparhawk, daughter of E.C. Sparhawk Esq., of Brighton District, Boston. The ceremony was at the residence of the brides father. The parlors were most profusely decorated with flowers, their perfume filling the air with fragrance. seductive music floated in sweet strains, and elegantly attired ladies and gentlemen filled the rooms, adding grace and beauty to the scene. Rev. Mr. Briggs of Shawmut avenue church, Boston, was the officiating clergyman, assisted by Rev. Mr. Gibbs of this city, and Rev. Mr. Fletcher of Buffalo N.Y. After the wedding the guests partook of an elaborate wedding dinner, and the health and happiness of the young couple were heartily pledged. The reception over, the bridal party started on their tour.
The presents were numerous and many of them of the richest. Among the most prominent were a cameo set from the bride's mother, a Geo. Steck & Co. piano from the bride's father; an elegant neck chain and locket from Mr. and Mrs. Levi S. Stockwell of New York; a set of silver knives from C.J.Hatch and wife; set of silver spoons and spoon holder from the bride's father and mother; silver castor from C.H. Brooks and wife; set of silver spoons from Monroe W. Hatch and wife; a volume entitled "Through the Pyrennees", finely illustrated from the bride's music teacher, Mr. J.W. Hill; splendid cake basket from J.B. Barnaby and Co. of Providence R.I.; silver butter dish from Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Setley; silver sugar bowl from Ella and Eugene Fletcher.
We wish Mr. Fisk and his accomplished wife all the happiness that can possibly be vouchsafed to mortals: may they know aught but sweet contentment, and never experience the slightest sorrow.
